BGP up/down event logging

Hi,

I'm on BIRD 2.15.1 and trying to get my head around on BGP up/down 
events logging.

I have seen down events in /var/log/messages

e.g.

Nov 21 10:48:07 system7 bird[3983]: a5_v4: Received: Administrative shutdown

Is there a way to see when peer is going up without enabling TRACE?
