BGP sessions resetting on configure

FYI,

I was doing something dumb. When building my configs from my DB, I was setting the start delay to a random int between 20-60, this was causing the BGP config to change every time I ran a config update (hourly), thus restarting the session.

Ignore this. Sometimes it takes a good night's reset and you wake up with the solution.

Is there a preferred way to reload the configuration? I noticed sometimes when we 'configure soft' it will reset the bgp sessions. Is this the normal behavior? Is there another method?

Thanks,
Stephen Holmes
