linux# netstat -rn or bird> route show strangeness

Gentz,

an update.
it's not bird related.

even a:
linux# time dd if=/dev/zero  of=/dev/zero count=10000000
has a big difference in time on both machines, even when bird is not 
running.
so don't know yet what it is , but not bird at all.
