In Debian 6.0, there is an pretty old version of BIRD. You should try
the current one:

ftp://bird.network.cz/pub/bird/debian/dists/squeeze/main/binary-amd64/net/bird_1.3.4-1~bpo60+1_amd64.deb

I remember that we fixed some problems in NBMA.


If the problem would be still here, you could install this package:

ftp://bird.network.cz/pub/bird/debian/dists/squeeze/main/binary-amd64/debug/bird-dbg_1.3.4-1~bpo60+1_amd64.deb

run BIRD with enabled core dumps and send me the core dump after the crash.
